After I saw the link to trailers for this movie on Facebook, I was intrigued because of the name Harry Browne was the LP’s presidential candidate in 1996 and 2000. What this movie appears to be is a British version of the1974 movie Death Wish, starring Charles Bronson. Moving KCUF Media (Again!)
A few years ago, I “moved” my KCUF Media blog from Myspace to Xanga, for various reasons. Now I’m “moving” it from Xanga to Blogspot. Chief among my reasons for this “move” is the fact that I can easily add co-bloggers to a Blogspot project, where it’s a royal pain in the ass if at all possible on Xanga.
Still, what I’ve posted at Myspace and Xanga will remain posted there I have no intention of deleting anything.

Quote of the Day, 27 April 2010
“Every invasion of individual rights happens with the eager support of people acting in the sincere and thoroughly mistaken confidence that what they permit the state to do to others will never be done to them.”“Political sovereignty, valuable as it is, must be regarded as a “good of second intent” something that, while of great worth, is derivative of, or subordinate to, a much greater good. The paramount political good, according to America’s founding premise, is individual liberty protected by law.”

Albuquerque Tea Party, 15 April 2010
Current mood:ecstatic
I arrived at the Albuquerque Tea Party‘s at 3:55 PM after parking one of the side streets (Dakota and Phoenix NE), as I suspected that traffic on Menaul would be horrendous. Coming up on the intersection of Menaul and San Pedro, I noticed that Channel 13 KRQE was already on the scene.
Ch.13 KQRE-TV news vehicle at Menaul and San Pedro NE
I then spent the next hour walking along Menaul from San Pedro to Wyoming, taking notes and pictures along the way. During that hour, I saw lots of good people expressing their concerns about the American political situation, and signed two petitions — one to shut down the Rail Runner, and another requesting that Attorney General Gary King file a lawsuit blocking the implementation of HR 3200 AKA “ObamaCare.”Some observations from the event —
- The Tea Partiers were staying on the sidewalk and “off the grass” (complying with private property rules) — nobody was blocking traffic.
- Some of the vehicles in passing traffic were decked out with American flags, Gadsden “DON’T TREAD ON ME” flags, and various signage.
- There were LOTS of American flags present, as well as a respectable showing of Gadsden and Culpepper flags.
- There didn’t seem to be much of a presence from law enforcement — I only saw two bicycle cops on the north side of Menaul, by Washington Ave.
- I only saw ONE (1) Ron Paul sign, held by a Tea Partier in front of Shoney’s at Menaul and Louisiana NE.
- I didn’t see ANY signs about abortion, same-sex / LGBTQ issues, either pro or con.
- I only saw two (2) signs protesting illegal immigration, and NONE protesting immigration per se.
- I saw a few signs written in Spanish — so much for the oppressives’ smear attempt that the Tea Parties are a whites-only movement. Ditto for the smear that it’s a Christian-only thing — ATP organizer Elisheva Levin is Jewish, as is Bob Finch, who was running the live fieldcast for KIVA 1550 AM[1].
- I didn’t see many candidate signs — one for Susanna Martinez and one for Doug Turner, both of whom are running for governor.
- I didn’t see many counterprotestors from the Obamanoid oppressive / regressive camp. That doesn’t mean they weren’t present:
- Re: [LPNM-discuss] Santa Fe Tea Party
There were some disrupters walking the circuit, but I’d estimate their total numbers at less than 20. I couldn’t get them to stop and discuss, they seemed more shell shocked than rational.
- At around 4:00 PM, I noticed a dark blue minivan parked facing north on the east side of Florida, just north of Menaul, with lettering decals on the back window advertising for the Jerry Ortiz y Pino for Lieutenant Governor —
- Re: [LPNM-discuss] Santa Fe Tea Party
I received a Day-Glo purple sticker from one of the ATP staff at 4:47 PM, as I was making my way westbound on Menaul — that was ATP’s method for keeping a rough headcount of the attendees.
Some other pictures:
Anyway, I left the area and headed up to the Chama River Brewing Co., adjacent to Pappadeux’s right off of I-25 for Liberty on the Rocks, sponsored by the Rio Grande Foundation. RGF President Paul Gessing had been at the ATP rally on Menaul, as well, as I saw the Day-Glo purple dot on his T-shirt.
NOTES- As is my favorite candidate this year, Adam Kokesh, who attended the Moriarty and Santa Fe Tea Party events — Adam professes to be Jewish. How faithful is he? That’s for him to decide. Still it is rather funny that there at least two (anti-Semitic) Stormfronters who seem to like him.

- Re: Wilson Destroys Bingaman on Health Care Bill —
I understand some people have a less than glowing opinion of Heather Wilson
That’s a bit of an understatement. For example:
- Medicare Part D
- In 2001, she supported regulations requiring triggerlocks (proven to be worthless in stopping unauthorized firearm use) to be provided with any firearms sold, and that gun owners would be required to use them on all guns, including those previously owned.
- She was against a national concealed-carry permit reciprocity, citing federalism as her excuse. Rather convenient time for her to discover the Tenth Amendment, wasn’t it? I suppose if I’m going to have to get a permit to exercise my right to self-defense in any practical manner (“just like a driver’s license”), I’d like that permit recognized nationwide, just like a driver’s license.
- She was a proponent of Live-Fire Exercise Iraqi Freedom and the subsequent occupation.
- She was part of the BS firing of David Iglesias

- Re: Wilson Destroys Bingaman on Health Care Bill —
Although Wilson seems to have no plans to run for office in the near future
Hallelujah!
it was good to see her jump into the health care policy debate on the side of those who opposed even greater federal intervention in Americans’ health care.
Is this an attempt by her to make up for making the enactment of Medicare Part D the centerpiece of her 2002 re-election campaign? What a repulsive episode that was.
Still, better late than never.
- Re: Obama’s National Sales Tax —
From the redstate.com article —
Volker and Bernanke have used a two pronged strategy to vet the VAT. First is fear mongering. Bernanke argues that Americans need to choose between higher taxes or massive cuts in critical government programs. He mentioned Social Security, Medicare, Education and Defense as areas of government spending that would be targeted if we don’t raise taxes. This is a false choice. The federal government needs to reform entitlement programs, needs to root out waste fraud and abuse and should eliminate programs like the National Endowment for the Arts.
I CHOOSE THE CUTS.
“Rooting out waste, fraud and abuse” from government spending is the icing on the cake. Sooner or later, the crony capitalists who prop up the Chinese Communist Party are going to quit buying U.S. Treasury bonds, and start dumping the ones they already have. What happens then?

If Obama keeps going as he’s going at present, he’ll end up handing over California in exchange for the ChiComs forgiving the Ø1,000,000,000,000 or so in T-bills that they’re holding.

Blowback Comes Home to New MexicoI suppose I should mention that I’ve been an admirer of Adam’s speaking skills and principles for about a year now, since we of the LPNM first heard of him. Then-State Chair Ken Cavanaugh had spoken with him about running on the Libertarian Party ticket at that time. I went to his house in Santa Fe in June 2009 for an organizing meeting.[2] I went to his Independence Day event at Santa Fe College in 2009 — that was where he made the official declaration to run for Congress as a Republican (about 12:15 AM on the 5th, actually). I was the one who got him scheduled as a guest on Hemp TV in August 2009.
I wasn’t exactly surprised when Mullins jumped into the Republican primary against Adam — the GOP has a history of running primary challenges against libertarian-leaning Republicans; they’ve been doing this with Ron Paul for twelve, fourteen years now. So when one of his campaign staffers volunteers him as a speaker for the Bernalillo County LP, well . . . . I wasn’t really against Mullins as I was FOR Adam. But then Mullins decided to do that interview with Cassy Fiano and join the smear campaign against Adam. With that decision, Mullins slit his own throat as far as I’m concerned.
I admit that I leapt to supporting Adam on a bit of blind faith on Ken Cavanaugh’s say-so. But whatever fears and reservations that I had were wiped out after talking with Adam on 21 June 2009 at the organizational meeting — I had asked him where he stood on the issue of marijuana. He responded by saying that he approached the issue from the vantage of self-ownership. BINGO! — Hole in one!
NOTES- After the Cassy Fiano interview, I had put “@mullinsforcongress.com” into my mail filters in Mozilla Thunderbird, and set the filter to delete the relevant traffic without me ever having to see it. I had forgotten to do that with the BCLP email address, and thus . . . PLOP!
- I got lost on the way up from Albuquerque, had to call Bill Koehler after arriving in Santa Fe, as Google Maps gave me bad directions.

- Re: Congressional Candidate Barela Shows Solid Grasp of Health Care Situtation
The third-party system goes all the way back to FDR — employment-related “benefit” plans offered in lieu of cash, as those plans aren’t taxed as a bigger pile of FRNs would be.
If these plans are truly a “benefit,” then why does the employee have to pay for it?
Still, Barela is light-years ahead of Heinrich on this issue.

Nothing wrong with a free dating site per se — better than the pay-for-use dating sites. What kind of funny stories do you want? What’s off-limits here?
- Re: Back to the Basics to Fix Education?
These are nice ideas, but our schools are not designed to effectively educate children. They’re socialistic in nature and seem to exist for the benefit of the teachers’ unions and bureaucrats.
They teach the kids how to lie, cheat, steal, sneak around, assault and batter people, and commit other crimes. While the kids are learning those life skills, they might learn other things, like reading, writing, mathematics, and science.
