I’d like to see this sort of legislation come to New Mexico. I notice that people like the shooters at Virginia Tech and Fort Hood seem to do their killing where everyone else is disarmed by administrative fiat. Shooting back sure beats 1950s-style “duck and cover.” If these spree killers (or “active shooters,” as the cops call them) are really so prevalent as the anti-gun-owner bigots would have us believe, then why don’t these sorts of shooting sprees happen at shooting ranges and gun shows? Just about every weekend, there’s a gun show happening somewhere in America. Shooting ranges are usually open all week. Why aren’t these places ankle-deep in blood?
