    Today in history

    Comments I’ve posted

    1. Re: To vote on Paseo or not to vote on Paseo, that is the question . . .

I hereby endorse a public vote on the matter so that I can then vote NO on the proposed project.

This proposal has all of the same “necessity” to it that the Coors / I-40 project did in 2002 – a Keynesian politician needs to spend piles of ØØØØ on something because re-election time is approaching. This time, it’s “fiscal conservative” Richard J. Berry (SR-NM) who wants to spend Ø50,000,000 (not counting overruns!) of FRNs from the paychecks of Productive Class people who live in, work in and pass through Albuquerque.

I still remember the campaign mailings from “fiscal conservative” Heather Wilson from that time, which were all about the “federal funding that Heather brought to the project.”

Wait a sec here – this particular project has already been up for a vote – and as with the bike-path loop around the city, Albuquerque voters told Berry to stick it back where the sun doesn’t shine.
