    Today in history

The gripe that I have about Johnson was the Adela Martinez case from 1995 to about 1999, when Johnson’s Tourism Secretary, Alex Garcia, pressed the case forward so the State could take Martinez’s house using eminent domain in order to build the Elephante Blanco Cultural Center at Bridge and 4th St SW in Albuquerque. They ended up building the place *around* her house, making her and her home a de facto exhibit. The least that they could have done was named it after her after she died.

The lawsuit that Martinez’s family filed in response to Garcia’s BS ended up costing them 200K, if I recall correctly.

Anyway, I’m not sure that I’ll run for re-election as State Chair. Right now, my main goal is to raise 10K to pay off Steve Curtis for the Woodruff lawsuit.

Joseph, you may be right that the organization is developing a life and mind of its own, regardless of founding principles.
