    Hello Mr. Blessing,
You made your site fancy and elegant. I see that you are a student. I’m glad that’s all over with for me!
I like to write articles about Jehovah God on my site to help people to really get to know Him and His plans for us, especially in these troubled times. 44 "And in the days of those kingsthe God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever." (Daniel 2:44) (ESV)

A few notes from this week --

    1. Got a B+ (89.9) in my Linux course this semester. I'm MUCH more comfortable with it as an operating system than I was before starting the course. I'm not dropping Windows, but I'm not locked into Windows any more. And that is a good thing.

    2. Now I've just got three labs in my IT Essentials class, and five labs and a test in my PC Repair class, and I'm finished for the semester.

    3. Went out with Teri last night -- we went to a bar, had a few drinks, sang some karaoke, danced a little. I would definitely go out with her again.

Every so often, I get an unsolicitied "spam" message from the "Defenders of Wildlife." The only way that I can see is back in July of this year, I posted a message to Martin Heinrich's campaign site, telling him that his "universal health care" plan was garbage. The site required me to enter an email address to post, so I did, and soon after, I'm getting emails inviting me to his events. Then I start getting messages from the "Defenders of Wildlife."

Easily fixed at gmail.com -- I set the filters so that the offending messages are forwarded back to them, then deleted from my inbox. Ha ha ha

Yesterday I found out that the CNM Photonics program is in danger of being killed off for at least a year, due to problems with the administrative people who are supposed to support the program. This is really frustrating -- I had planned on taking enough courses to complete the degree program. Lucky for me I do have a back-up plan.

Maybe I should take this as yet another example of the inadequacies of the public education system, as CNM is a publicly-owned and -operated entity?

Reposted my links pages and such after the versions I had posted to Google and linked to from here were disabled by the Google admin people -- see the sidebar on the main page. Also posted a couple more Twitter updates.

Just updated my Zorpia page a bit. Haven't had much action there (mostly on myyearbook.com these days), but what the hell, why not?

  • mikewb1971

I just figured out how to customize the link to my MyYearbook profile from the default gibberish.

My laptop is down again -- won't even boot up this time. Really pisses me off, as I basically live from it -- all of my files, notes, etc., are on its hard drive. ARGH. Really MUST put more of my stuff online so I can get to it without being dependent on one machine.

Another "get-to-know-you" question from OKCupid --

In your ideal sexual encounter, do you take control, or do they?

    [  ] I take control

    [  ] They take control

My answer? We take turns -- I know, it's a really radical, unconventional answer. I have a habit of coming up with that sort of thing.

I was just answering some questions at OKCupid, and the following one came up --

Should drugs be legalized, regulated, and taxed?

The only three choices were "Yes," "No," and "I'm not sure." Since my answers to this three-in-one question are "Yes," "No," and "No," I went with "I'm not sure."

On the way down to and back from CNM, I noticed that the red temperature light on my dashboard kept blinking on and off. And I do NOT remember having brake problems BEFORE turning the car over to be worked on. If the temperature light is still blinking after Saturday (3 May '08), I'll take it over and have them look at it again.

I went to CNM today to enroll and register in the Photonics program. I had to go physically down to the Admissions Office at the Student Services Building (vicinity of Buena Vista and Coal SE in Albuquerque) after I tried to enroll online and got nothing but an error message. (See here for more.) So I went down and found the place. It took me all of a minute to explain to the Admissions clerk that I had enrolled online and got the error. She took a look at my New Mexico State Driver's License, and I had my Student Number in a minute. ARGH -- REALLY aggravating!

New modus operandi for me here -- notes that take a five-line paragraph or less go here. Anything I can say in a sentence or less that doesn't need any HTML coding goes in the Pulse section. Anything bigger than a five-line paragraph goes to the blog.

Is it time to bail out from Myspace? About a month ago, I was comtemplating bailing from Yahoo! because of problems I had been having with them. At the same time, I've been having problems with Myspace -- glitches that occur when posting blog entries, the fact that they convert any URLs you post to "msplinks.com/_____" as an spam/phisher-killing measure (hasn't seemed to work much!), among other things.

  • mikewb1971

The 17-year-old (or undercover cop, or spammer) who had sent me the "let's get to know each other" message to my campaign site had his/her/its Myspace account deleted (probably by the Myspace sysadmin pukes).

    HA !

  • mikewb1971

The head-gasket replacement job on my car was done yesterday -- the total bill was 750 bucks. Apparently, the tensioner (keeps tension on the serpentine belt) was shot, as well. Now I need to have my brake shoes replaced. ARGH.

  • mikewb1971

Taking my car in to have the head gasket swapped out tomorrow morning, and then to work by 1 PM. Closing shift tomorrow -- YUCK. I'm looking at a 600-FRN repair bill, which is one-third of what the guy at Richard's Automotive (the Goodyear franchise in the Ladera Shopping Center (Coors and Redlands)) quoted me (1900 bucks). That's assuming that it's only the gasket that's gone bad.
