James P. Hogan wrote two novels with the same sort of premise – Cradle of Saturn and The Anguished Dawn.

Just remember that he also frequently talks about the joys of drinking and washing with one’s own urine.
I’ve encountered him at Channel 27 and on the street – he smells like a well-used mens’ room that hasn’t been cleaned in a month.
Still, if you view his show as stand-up comedy, it’s hilarious!
