  • Partisans of the American Southwest v.2 (A Thought Experiment)

    Partisans of the American Southwest

    Internet Resources

    1. Blogs – Blogger / WordPress

    2. Email groups – Google / Yahoo!
    3. Email
    4. Newsletter template – The Partisan – already on flash drive
      1. Newsletter should be available at no cost to readers in electronic format – also released for recopying and distribution by readers

    Mission

    • Networking and training – be for NM Patriots, Constitutionalists, etc., what al-Qaeda is for Islamic terrorism

    • Politics, training, networking, etc., should be FUN, too

    Committees

    • Correspondence – communications / networking

    • Revolution – activism: electioneering, public speaking, rallies, street theater
    • Safety – preparedness, resistance
    • Vigilance – oversight of government activity
    1. Activities / functions of committees will probably overlap with each other

    2. Committees to consist of chair and vice-chair
    3. Put out lists of tasks that need doing

    Two types of unity –

    1. Common purpose and principles – ideal path

    2. Leader tells dissenters “shut up and do as you’re told” – comes up all too often

    Leadership style –

    • Lead by example is the ideal way.

    • Don’t be stupid – use common sense, rational thought.
    • Don’t ask others to do things that you’re not willing to do yourself.
    • Check your facts and premises.
    • Don’t take the rank and file for granted.

Invitation-only events do NOT get broadcast to the general public or membership – Send ONLY to those on the invite list.

Keep speakers local when possible – focus on developing speakers in the state. Speakers from out-of-state cost more, plus travel time makes scheduling more difficult.

Keep meals at events as no-host when possible – Saves headaches with planning

    • No worries about preferences, dietary requirements, shortages / leftovers

    • Can lessen the price of tickets at the door

    Fundraising

    • Non-profit organizations can hold up to two (2) raffles per year, per New Mexico State Law

    • Raffle off a rifle, pistol, etc.

    How to get volunteers motivated?

    • Contests?

    • Challenges?
    • Avoid fear-mongering!

    How to recruit?

    1. Invite selected members from LPNM, BTPNM, RGF, AC4L, TRT-NM, NM Linux / open-source groups, Friends of Capitalism, Tea Parties, RLCNM, etc.

    2. Mass appeal (warm bodies) vs snob appeal (Ex: USMC – “The Few. The Proud. The Marines.”)
      1. Mass appeal – more people will join and get things done (hopefully)

      2. Snob appeal – “do you have what it takes . . .” – better quality people?
    3. Both approaches needed somewhat
      1. Create larger group for the strap-hangers and camp followers

      2. Create “elite” group for the people who get things done
      3. Selection process / standards?
        1. Screen for racialists, religious wackos (sp?), those obsessed w/conspiracy fantasies, gangstas, con artists, etc.

        2. Ask prospects for resumé, DD-214(s), cirriculum vitae, transcript(s), letter(s) of recommendation . . . ?
        3. Ask prospects how much time, money, effort they can devote to the cause

Internal affairs – Allow as much transparency as possible

    • Easier to avoid “conspiracy” charges from government, media, etc.

    • Lets the membership know what’s going on
    • How can we call for openness from government if we’re not open ourselves?

  • Quote of the Day, 21 September 2010

“I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed in their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is ‘needed’ before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents’ ‘interests,’ I shall reply that I was informed their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can.”

Always remember that “Nazi” is a contraction of “National _Socialist_” –

“We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are determined to destroy this system under all conditions.”

Just remember that he also frequently talks about the joys of drinking and washing with one’s own urine.

I’ve encountered him at Channel 27 and on the street – he smells like a well-used mens’ room that hasn’t been cleaned in a month.

Still, if you view his show as stand-up comedy, it’s hilarious!

by Adam Kokesh on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11:40pm

Dear friends of liberty and fans of radio ads,

My radio show, Adam Vs The Man on KIVA 1550 AM, has been rocking and rolling for over a month now and the audience has been growing organically without ANY promotion outside of my own facebook page. We have secured a slot on the local public access TV station (Saturday from midnight to 2am)[1] to play the best of the week from our UStream feed from the webcam in the studio. We are also getting more frequent local callers (at first, most callers were from outside of NM, listening or watching online) which is a good sign that more and more people are deliberately tuning in to the radio broadcast!

The broadcast radius covers over one million potential listeners from Santa Fe to Socorro including the entire Albuquerque metro area. We also draw a unique audience of liberty lovers online with a growing base of loyal daily listeners. The audience of Adam Vs The Man tends to be younger, affluent, politically inclined, and of course, spends lots of money on consumer goods and services with a flagrant disregard for authority. Statistics routinely show that a talk show audience is much more engaged and attentive to the broadcast than, for example, an easy listening audience. The point is that our broadcast advertisements do get heard; they are not just background noise.

Without the financial support of sponsors, we cannot maintain our deal with the radio station, but as the show continues to grow, you will be glad to have gotten in while it was cheap! If you are interested in reaching out to the local audience of over one million potential listeners covered by our broadcast radius and our distinct online audience, please consider signing up for one of the following sponsorship packages:

    $150 / week

    • Sponsor credit during Adam Vs The Man
    • 5 30-second ads per week during the show
    • 14 30-second ads during prime time on KIVA 1550AM
    • Banner ad at adamvstheman.com

    $250 / week

    • Sponsor credit during Adam Vs The Man
    • 5 live 60-second endorsements per week during the show (great way to reach online audience, as ads will be cut out of the final podcast)
    • 21 30-second ads during prime time on KIVA 1550AM, 3/day
    • Banner ad with top placing at adamvstheman.com

    $350 / week

    • Sponsor credit during Adam Vs The Man
    • 5 live 60-second endorsements per week during the show
    • 5 30-second ads per week during the show
    • 28 30-second ads during prime time on KIVA 1550AM, 4/day
    • Banner ad with top placing at adamvstheman.com plus a rotating feature at the top of the page

Individual ads to play during Adam Vs The Man:

    • 30-second ad: $20
    • 60-second ad: $25
    • 60-second live endorsement: $50

In addition, if you sign up for 13 weeks of $250/week sponsorship, the station will throw in 14 additional 30-second ads on our sister station, Real Oldies 1600. Sign up for 13 weeks of $350/week sponsorship and it’s 21 more ads. We can do all the audio production here in the studio. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (505) 899-5029. If you can’t reach me there, please feel free to ask for our executive producer, Mark Owen, or email me at adamvstheman@gmail.com.

Any advertising message takes time to generate a response. We suggest an initial commitment of 13 weeks, which will extend well into the holiday shopping season. After the initial advertising period, we will suggest specific promotional tie-ins to allow each sponsor to measure the direct impact. I would be happy to consider any and all possibilities for on air give-aways of your product or service for free exposure.

Thank you for your continued support of the message of liberty.

    Love, faith, respect,

    Adam Kokesh

I’d like to see Bill Richardson take the 2012 Democrat nomination from Obama. Then I’d like to see Gary Johnson get the Republican nomination.

Think about it – two two-term governors from the same state. All people would have do is compare their records as governor side-by-side. “Going negative” like Mullins (asinine character assassination) would be almost mandatory on Wild Bill’s part, considering the last eight years, and there’s nothing that I’ve seen in Johnson’s past that would give Richardson much if any ammo.

    4. I just clicked “Ignore” in response to a request that I join the page for the Parables TV Network, which “is poised to be ‘the’ destination for faith-based entertainment that will feature movies, dramatic series, documentaries, original productions, and specials that tell profound and uplifting stories of faith.”

So I guess that TV preachers soliciting piles of ØØØØ aren’t enough?

I’ll hold out for a channel that gives “SyFy” some competition – the cheesy monster movies on Saturday nights are getting old.

Extend the tax cut for the top two percent but allow it to be invested only in companies that keep their work force within the U.S..

      Ahhh . . . that’s much better.

If we’re going to have an income tax at all (I will admit to mixed emotions to the income-vs-excise fight, for strategic and practical reasons), why oh why can’t these pukes make it a flat rate for everyone? Is that too much to ask?

And when I say “flat rate,” I’m not talking the 25 – 30 percent that “FairTax” advocates say is necessary for “revenue neutrality” (so that Imperial Washington doesn’t have to undertake any spending cuts), I’m talking something like five percent.

Y’all know, if the Sith Lords of the Potomac had been happy with their two percent from the 98th percentile income bracket, we might not have people threatening the lives of IRS agents intent on foreclosing their properties and emptying their bank accounts as we do today.

But NO, they want it ALL.

Let’s see if they (and the Tea Party groups) retain their enthusiasm should the Republicans take the Congress this November. And especially if a Republican takes the White House in 2012.

I cite the GOP record between 1995 and 2009 as evidence supporting my misgivings.

To date, only the Ron Paul groups (link to the ABQ C4L here) and Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC-NM link) have acted in a manner consistent with the Sharon Statement.

  • LPNM Going Into “Hibernation” Until Further Notice

    Friends of Liberty:

Due to an ongoing legal situation, the Libertarian Party of New Mexico has been forced to suspend all of its current business except for handling that same legal situation, including regular meetings, Central Committee meetings, etc.

Due to this, we have also placed our long-running email discussion list into “hibernation” by means of requiring moderator approval for any and all postings.

How long will this situation last? I honestly don’t know.

On a good note, I have received confirmation from the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office, Election Bureau, that Mark Curtis, nominated for State Representative in District 19, has been officially placed on the ballot for the general election coming up this November.

For more information, contact State Chairman Jay Vandersloot at 505-362-1733.

Except that what’s currently called “free trade” isn’t truly free trade at all.

And every time a new regulation is created, it adds to the cost of doing business for every company that’s affected. Please tell me that you don’t seriously believe that they’re going to eat that cost instead of passing it on to the customer in the form of increased prices. Bigger companies (ex: Wal-Mart) can spread those price increases over a wider customer base than smaller companies (ex: the mom-and-pop store) and thus get hurt less by those regulations.

    1. Adam suggested that I should call into Janice’s show and be the first caller she took on the air.

I can just imagine what I would have said – “Hey Tom, you missed a golden opportunity – you could’ve been on the show preceding this one, too!”

      I’ve got another idea for calling into radio shows, sending emails “in support of Mullins” . . . . What a creep! ([1] / [2] / [3] / [4])
